Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara in Blackest Black
I’ve been on a great mascara hunt trying from Revlon, Maybelline, L’Oreal and finally to Rimmel.
I really liked the Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara, but I’ve come to find that this one takes it up a notch!
This mascara is very interesting contraption where it able to give volume and length.
The invention is a mascara wand with a long tube in the cap that can either pile on mascara or squeeze the excess off.
I find the volume wand gives me lots of product to build up my lashes and the length allows me to define the tips.
It can be a bit tricky at first getting the right amount of product. I really love the effect.

K-Palette Tattoo Eyeliner in Black & Dolly Wink Eyeliner in Black
These are foreign brands, can be purchased at Ichiban Kan & Sasa.com for US buyers.
They claimed to be one of the best and darkest liquid eyeliners in Asia.
I’ve come to prefer them for their depth in color and easy of application compared to my physician formula eye booster pen.

(Swatched On Hand – KPalette, Dolly Wink)

The two pens are extremely comparable in formula, wear, pigmentation, packaging and design.
I use them interchangeably for my black winged eye look.

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum
(sample size)
“This stuff is magic” say E …and well it sure feels like it. ūüôā
Thank you for Birchbox for allowing me to find this.
Recently I bought I splashed out and purchased the full size bottle of this product because it was just that good.
It’s definitely a higher end acne skin product at $30 for 2-oz¬† but for once just trust me it’s so worth it!!!

The product is a clear watery gel that you can either use as all over face serum or just spot treatment for acne.
I only use it as a spot treatment on breakouts/irritated skin.
I avoid using it as entire face serum because I do have dry to combination skin.
The product quickly soothes my blemish and absorbs into the skin.
I find it provides next day results where my blemish is cleared or significantly smaller.
Another benefit is that a little goes a long way. ūüôā

Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie
Revlon lip butter are hybrid product with the pigmentation of a lipstick and feeling of a lip balm.
They come in a huge range of colors from pinky nude to sizzling red.
I really like to use raspberry pie both as a intense pop of color and lightly as a lip stain.
It feel comfortable for a day wear, easy to apply and smooth texture like butter ūüėõ
I would highly recommend trying out this drugstore goodie.

Ecotools Mineral Kabuki Brush (I have reviewed the whole set in blog archives)
This has been my go-to makeup brush for most of the spring.
It’s light, small, compact, durable, soft synthetic bristles, bamboo handle and picks up the right amount of product.
It’s doesn’t shed and holds up great.
I use it for translucent powders, bronzer and blush powders.

Sonia Kashuk Limited Edition Eyelash Curler (I have reviewed the item  in blog archives)
I recently raved about this eye lash curler and it’s a steal for $7.
I’ve been using it frequently over my Sephora Gold Karat curler as I’m not afraid to bring it every where with me.
It’s light, simplistic design, no spring and gives a great full curl.
It’s a great partner to my Rimmel Day 2 Night mascara.

Latest * HOT * Spring Eye Products
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze (cream)
L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Eternal Sunshine (pigment)
L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe (pigment)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Shadow Pencil in Sin (cream)

These are must have in my collection and I pull them out on a daily basis.
I’m even tempted to just stick to these above all other eye shadows I have… dare I say I am tempted.
These hot new release are on par with their high-end counterparts!!!

(Swatched on Hand – Without Primer – UD Sin, Maybelline Bad to the Bronze, L’oreal Eternal Sunshine, & L’oreal Bronzed Taupe)

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Shadow Pencil in Sin
I like to use UD Sin as both a all over lid shade and a shimmery primer for the lids.
The UD 24/7 eye shadow pencils are a dream to work with.
They are incredibly creamy, fast drying, smooth and a gorgeous color.
They seriously last all day without creasing or fading – A+ in my book!
* Currently on sale at Urban Decay Website for under $10 for a set of 5

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
I hear these have been compared to Mac Paint Pot, Makeup Forever Cream and many more high-end brands.
All I can say is RUN! to the store and buy this bad boy.
It’s a wonderful bronze that med-tones, shimmery and great for both base/lid use.
It very blend-able, fast drying, creamy, doesn’t crease, lasts all day and is $6 bucks!!!
It’s dare say my best find of the year.

L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadows in Eternal Sunshine & Bronzed Taupe
I’d say this item is closest to a pigment product.
However, it provides the best attributes of pigments and pressed eye shadows.
It’s incredibly pigmented, vibrant, smooth texture and it’s NOT MESSY because it stays a strange malleable solid form.
It’s also been compared to Chanel Ombre / Giorgio Armani Eye to Kill eye shadows.

These are for sure something a beauty lover needs in their collection.
The colors provide great depth and dimension to the eye.
I often use Maybelline Bronzed Taupe as a base, L’Oreal Eternal Sunshine as all over lid and L’oreal Bronzed Taupe for crease color.
I can only compare this to how great the Lorac little black baked palette performs – impeccable!

p.s. Don’t you think Eternal Sunshine is such a wonderful name?!?

Yep those are my spring favorites ūüôā

The applicator is spongy hourglass doe foot and it’s very easy to use.¬† I really love the colors, smooth texture, gel like consistency and the price! I would highly recommend this product as it was in my best makeup of 2011. The two colors I’ve chosen are very similar but Berry me is a bit of darker berry shade.

  • Trendsetter 04
  • Berry Me 06

Essence Eyeliner Pen
Retails for $2.29, on sale $1.15

  • Color is a deep black
  • Felt Tipped Pen Applicator

So the cool part about shopping in the Ulta store is they usually have a coupon floating around either mobile app, flyer or online printable coupon for $3.50 off $10 or 20% of an item.

Total = $12.80! (with sales / coupons)

NYX round Lipstick MADNESS – seriously (swatches!)

NYX Cosmetics is a affordable drugstore-like brand that can be purchase online at NYX website, Ulta stores, and cherrycoulture.com

So lately I’ve been on quite a lipstick craze because I think I’ve had it up to here – with lip glosses. Glosses never seem to last very long for me whereas lipsticks usually are true to color, opaque and last 3-4 hrs. I’m sort of new to lipsticks thus I was looking for wide variety of color choices that were well… cheap. That’s how I got interested in the¬† NYX cosmetics line.

NYX Round lipsticks have 165 color varieties!!!

[NYX round lipstick -Information]
Store: Ulta.com
Retail: $4 each
Sale: $2.40 each + Free shipping!
Packaging: plastic, lipstick twists up, twist down completely
Weight: 4g/0.14oz

[Discount Sale]
Ulta was having 40% off NYX cosmetics + free online shipping over $25

*Sales change all the time.
100% guarantee from Ulta if you don’t like it, you can RETURN it. ^^ Be Happy

I believe NYX round lipsticks are always $2 each at Cherry Culture’s website. However the cons are you do have to pay shipping if it’s under $40 and you can’t return a used product.

NYX Round Lipstick
1. Margarita – bright pink with coral undertones, silver shimmer (Frost)
2. Herades – warm medium brick color with tones of red, brown (Opaque)
3. Tea Rose – medium rose pink with bit of mauve (Opaque)
4. Thalia – deep pinkish mauve nude, known dupe for MAC’s blankety (Opaque)
5. Fig – Rose Pink, similar to Tea Rose but a pinch darker (Opaque)
6. B52 – Reddish brown, similar to Thalia but darker (Opaque)
7. Gem – Hot pink with hint of fuchsia, silver shimmer (Frost)
8. Pumpkin Pie – Peachy nude, tiny unnoticeable amt shimmer pink/purple (Sheer)
9. Narcissus – Bold barbie pink (Cream, Opaque)
10. Femme – Bold coral orange (Opaque) ** My favorite!!!**

(same order as above)
( L-R Fig, Thalia,  Tea Rose, Herades, Margarita)
(L-R Femme, Narcissus, Pumpkin Pie, Gem, B52)

The difficulty of buying NYX online is that their color description/swatch sucks! If you are interested in a NYX color you should look at real people swatches. Their descriptions also never tell you if it is sheer, opaque, frosty, or glittery. I personally like opaque colors as they seem to suit my lips. Frosty formations seems to emphasize the creases in my lips or if my lips are dry.

[Closeups on a Few of the Collection]

Femme
– looks almost shockingly orange in the tube. However it is a GORGEOUS coral orange that perfect the current color trends and the
summer occasions. This is a definite favorite in my collection. ‚̧

Narcissus
– when I first purchased this color, I had doubts about how barbie pink it was but it’s always sold out so I thought everyone must be loving it for a reason. I’m very happy that I purchased this lipstick because I think it’s a very unique color and it’s something that low end cosmetics usually don’t produce. It’s got great color payoff, it’s creamy, and surprisingly wearable. It’s not frosty which sold me. If this is too pink for you, I’d suggest NYX Strawberry Milk which is a couple pinches lighter and less intimidating. Dude I love the name!

Pumpkin Pie
– Peachy Nude color that is a sheer application. I found that this particular lipstick had a stronger lipstick smell¬† but when I asked others they didn’t have that response. I like the sheer coverage as I find that it doesn’t ‘concealer’ or ‘whiteout’ my lips. It’s great way to allow you to play down your lips and have bolder eye makeup.

Fig – Rose pink that is a smidge deeper in color than Tea Rose. It’s like nice wash of color.

Herades – this lip color screams bricks or terracotta tiles to me. Does it do you? I think it’s a useful color for more business formal occasions as it give yours lip a warmth. To me it’s a very grown up color.

Gem: It’s quite a hot pink and definitely when you wear you can tell it has hints of fuchsia in the color.

[Bits and Bobs]
Packing: simple, black with colored bottom to indict which color it – I like this feature a lot!, twist up/down lipstick
Labels: I love NYX naming conventions for lipsticks. I really dislike when companies just use numbers
Application: Smooth but frosts tend to seep into creases
Scent: unscented but it smells like a lipstick*
Weight: 4g/0.14g this lipstick is good value because among collection of lipsticks it has considerable more product
Color Payoff: pigmented
Value: Onsale-excellent value, $4 each it’s above avg value compared to drugstick lipsticks range $6-8 each

Overall Rating: B
I’ve impressed with the color section and its’ bits & bobs for the price . However, I’m disappointed that lipsticks don’t say what formulations they are. Average last wear probably 2-3 hrs and not too drying.

MAJOR CAVEAT is that these are not for dry lips especially the Frosts. It will emphasize the wrinkles, creases, and the imperfections of your lips if you tend to have drier / cracked lips. I wouldn’t recommend this formulation. Side note is I ended up using my lipstick in Margarita (Pink Frost) as actually cheek highlight/creme blush instead of lipstick because of this problem.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick in Smoking Hot Pink (905D)

So today I was wearing this lipstick and I just kept thinking what a lovely color!
Perfect for the springtime. ^^

Nitty Gritty Details: for more details and colors check out their website

  1. Wet n’ Wild Mega Last Lip color Lipstick normally retails for $3.99 us dollars
  2. Available at most drugstores (CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens)
  3. This is a matte finish lipstick

So first off, I want to say how impressed I am with Wet n’ Wild’s cosmetics. I use to think it was just so-so brand because everything is so dang affordable ranging for $1-$5 dollars. I found the new color-icon items to be AMAZING! I picked up quite a few of their products in a recent RiteAid sale. The lipsticks are just a great buy!

This lipstick is MATTE! I think it’s really hard to find inexpensive drugstore lipstick that is actually matte. It’s got great color payoff, opaque, decent selection of colors, affordable, portable, unscented and not too drying. If you want you can always pair with a gloss for more moisture and shine.

But mostly I love how it’s matte.
It’s not shiny, not glittery, not satin or not a slippery texture. It’s a true matte.

It doesn’t make my lips look died or chalky. The lipstick pigmentation really approves that a little can go a long way! I usually just apply my lower lip and press my lips to transfer the color. I find that for a lip product I get decent amount of staying power (3-4 hours) which I think is a slight miracle for my lips.

Also interesting change is that the lipstick has a flat top lipstick shape instead of tapered tip. I rather like the flat top since I find it makes it less likely for me to nick the lipstick.

Con
1. After you take off the packaging you lose the “name” and only left with “the lipstick” number. I think this is annoying because I find names to be easier to remember.
2. Due to high color payoff, it’s easier to accidentally apply too much product
3. First application can be awkward as I think the first “layer” of lipstick is a bit drier but this goes away with use

Overall, I can’t say enough good things about this lipstick. I’d highly recommend checking them out!

Any questions? ==> Please comment below and I’ll answer as soon as possible
^_^ Have a lovely day!

Covergirl Lipstick in True Red

Brand: Covergirl
Product: Lipstick in True Red
Cost: $5-6 dollars varies by retailer
Purchased: Riteaid, available at drugstores & mass merch. retailers.

I purchased this lipstick at RiteAid when they have Buy 1 get 1 free sale. The cool thing about drugstore makeup is that they very affordable and different ones are always going on sale. The packaging is ordinary but it does it’s purpose.¬† I hate going into stores and seeing all those mushed up lipsticks. I like that the top is clear so you can see what color lipstick is without opening it.
For the price you get a good amount of product. I love the formulation as it’s odorless, tasteless, glides on smooth and stays on forever! I choose the color true red, it is indeed very red. It’s not for the faint of heart but as you can see my next picture it’s great for classic red lips that last the night.
I’m wearing the CG true red on lip for my pinup girl Halloween costume. I was absolutely amazed at the long staying power of lipstick. I ate food, I was able to drink stuff, and I didn’t even wear lip liner. It was very impressive in my standards. I felt it wasn’t drying. I’d really recommend checking out this line if you are looking for long lasting wear. It wear much better than a lip stain and has great pigmentation.

Pin up Girl style:
Curl – curling iron courtesy of my friend Annie
Makeup – eyeliner (ulta automatic in black), blush (CG blush trio in 5), lips (CG lipstick in true red), foundation (CG powder in true beige)
Dress – Charlotte Russe
Jewelry – strand of pearls (purchased on my trip to Shanghai)

* CoverGirl has a bunch of new lipstick lines out and I love the new fancy packaging they have. So if you are in the store you should check them out since I find that drugstore makeup is totally worth it.

*Disclaimer: My stuff, my opinions, that’s that.

E.L.F. Review: Super Glossy Lip Gloss 5 set – Plum

If you’ve never heard of E.L.F. They stand for inexpensive cosmetic brand called Eyes Lips Face. How inexpensive?
-Professional Line products $1 each
-Studio Line products $3 each
-Palettes $5-$10

Only clutch is that E.L.F. products can be difficult to find in your local stores. I’ve only seen it at select Targets and my Dollar Tree. However you can purchase their products online at eyeslipsface.com but there’s a shipping charge. Though online store has the most selections and they usually have a promo code going on.

Anyways, there’s a bunch of YouTube rave over this brand and I’ve tried a few items which are usually hit or miss. But for around $1 an item I guess it’s one of the most affordable brands to experiment with.

SUPER GLOSSY COLLECTION: Plum
The set I will be reviewing can be purchased at Target.com for $5 as seen linked here.

Los Angeles, Plumtastic, Groovy Grape, Juiced Berry, Pink Lemonade
Size: 0.35oz per gloss

First off, I felt the collection lacked pigmentation and failed to be ‚Äúplum‚ÄĚ shades as it was stated. Most of the glosses applied very sheer and looked almost identical on the lips. My lips are naturally pink and after taking many pictures with the glosses I looked back it was impossible to differentiate between the glosses.

Colors: ( Left to Right) Pink Lemonade, Plumtastic
Pink Lemonade was rosy pink with gold shimmer undertones. I really liked the color and gave your lips a pretty sheen.
Plumtastic wasn’t as dark in color as appeared in the tube. It did show layers of mauve, purple tones. I felt it was too frosty.
Colors: (Left to Right) Groovy Grape, Juiced Berry Los Angeles
Groovy Grape & Juiced Berry were essential the same clear gloss with a hint of silver shimmer
Los Angeles held more pigmentation, strawberry pink with silver shimmer undercoat
Application & Packaging
Lip Gloss came in a plastic tube with twist off cap. For application you just squeeze the tube and gloss would come out of the clear plastic tapered tip. It was very easy to use and I didn’t have any problems with the packaging.

The gloss texture and consistency were nice. It wasn’t too sticky or tacky. The consistency felt very moisturizing and smooth on the lips.

Smell???
For me what my cosmetics smell like is a BIG DEAL and especially when I’m using lip glosses. I don’t want something nasty smelling on my lips when there’s so many delicious smelling glosses out there. This is my biggest issue with E.L.F. products is their inconsistent manufacturing. I really wanted to like this product but I can’t recommend it because half of lip glosses in the set smelled disgusting!

Pink Lemonade, Groovy Grape, and Juiced Berry smelled sweet like artificial grape candy. I thought it was decent and I liked it.

However…Plumtastic & Los Angeles smelled medicinal, really gross!
I immediately had to wipe it off my lips because it was just very unpleasant. (But the smell didn’t affect the texture or the product.)

Overall (Value, Color Selection, Application, Packaging, Smell)
(2.5 out 5 = value, application, packaging)

I only really liked the Pink Lemonade Lip gloss in this set. I thought Los Angeles had nice color but the smell was horrid. If you do like clear glosses Groovy Grape and Juiced Berry were not bad. I just prefer my lip gloss to have color pigmentation rather than be clear. I didn’t like Plumtastic as the color clashed with my complexion.

So I’d have to say this collection was a “miss” for me in the E.L.F. line. I am excited to know that I do like the lip gloss formulation so I wouldn’t be adverse to trying more of their Super Glossy Shine lip glosses. I still think E.L.F. products have great value. I just hope they smell better next time!

*Hautelook’s business model is very similar to Swirl.com or Ruelala.com.
Urban Decay Cosmetics Haul
Yikes! I did quite a splurge on Urban Decay makeup. Hey for $2 bucks, how could I not! ^^
I got total of 14 Urban Decay items : 9 pigments, 2 mascaras, 2 lip glosses, 1 pyrotechnics cream eyeliner
I spent $28+ $5.95 shipping. I saved $235 dollars!

Retail Value: $269 @ Urbandecay.com
All the above items are still being sold on urbandecay.com at regular prices so Hautelook was having a spectacular sale!
The best part is that you can get high-end makeup for the less than drugstore prices!
-Urban Decay Pigments retails $20 each
-Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara retails $17
-Urban Decay Ultraglide Lippy retails $17
-Urban Decay XXX shine retails $16
-Urban Decay Pyrotechnics retails $22
*I’m sorry for flash effect!* CLICK on image to get CLOSEUP!
These are color swatches on my skin for the following Urban Decay Pigments.
I love the containers the pigments come in, nice packaging and each pigment tube comes with its own mini brush!

X– Peach, Pink with Champagne undertones (love the name!)
Shag– Pink with Bronze shimmer
Asphyxia– bold magenta pink purple
Rockstar– deep dark purple with black shimmer
Yeyo– white shimmer (great for highlighting)
Gun metal– deep black with grey shimmer
Smog– Dark brown, bronze shimmer
Baked– slightly darker than X or Shag but similar. It’s rose peachy, brown, champagne color. (I adore it!)
Goddess– dark violet with multicolored black shimmer (darker than Rockstar)

All the pigments were very pigments and easy to apply. However I haven’t really tested the products on my face so I can’t tell you techniques or if there’s a lot of fallout so I’ll have to get back to you on that.

Alas all good things must come to a end…so my last 4 items from my haul did not work. ūüė¶
Sadly, Urban Decay sent some defective products!  However Hautelook has fantastic customer service and my money was returned.
So in reality I only had 10 item haul. Shucks! But I did learn valuable lesson that if I buy something I should try it out right away in case it’s defective or else there goes my money. Make sure you have time to play around with your goods!

Urban Decay Ultra Glide in Hustle
-it is a very long lip gloss tube
-has a tapered clear rubber-like applicator tip similar to L’oreal Naturale Lip gloss
-color is brownish bronze
*Issue was the applicator tip separated due to a cracked tube rim
Pyrotechnics in Silver
-I love love love the packaging. It is metallic purple box with peacock image
-The cream eyeliner comes in a gun metal colored plastic container with peacock image on the cover, slim mirror and 2 ended brush
-The cream liner appears to be white with sparkles
However the pyrotechnics was also a no-go for me. I don’t know if this is because my product was old or defective but I couldn’t get any of the liner to show up. Every once in a while there would be a chuck of glitter. At first glance I was pleased it came with a brush but it the brush seemed rather flimsy. I looked up some other reviews on the product and they seemed to have similar problems. I am really glad I didn’t shell out $22 for this because the formula is incredibly lackluster and un-usable.
Big Fatty Colored Mascara in Indigo & Electric Blue
I was so excited by these products because I really wanted to try something funky. I loved the packaging!

Crazy fact: Mascara only lasts around 3 months! After that is considered expired. Due to the formulation of mascara and use, this makeup product is more prone to bacteria infestation. Ew!
The pattern is also wrapped around the tube. I also liked the size of the mascara tubes. It’s very portable.
This is the mascara wand. The problem was the mascara was completely dried up and try as I might nothing came out. Boo! I looked on Urban Decay Facebook and it appears to be common problem with this sale. Thank goodness I was able to get a refund! But if you have tried this product. I’d love a review on it!

Overall, I am still happy with my purchases despite the hiccups in the order.
Anyways, that’s my haul! If you have questions, comments, or suggestions please post below!!!
Thanks for reading!

December: Lip Gloss Reviews

So let it be said that I am lip gloss junkie. Lip glosses were one of¬†my first makeup purchases and I’ve continued to love trying them. Also I have huge lips so I’ve become quite picky with what glosses I like. Anyways these are part 1 of my december purchases… I normally do not purchases as many but it was the¬†holidays so I splurged! I also got some from friends & family.

With all makeup products I find that products may differ from person to person so I’ll just be talking about my opinion. I’ll be judging on these factors: ¬†color, consistency, smell,¬†packaging and application. All of these are fairely inexpensive and can be found at your local drugstore.

If you click on the photos they will open in another tab in full size if you find it is hard to read the tabs

Other Stuff:
Fuzzy Tip applicator are called “doe foots”

Take a beauty challenge! It’s a new year and even makeup needs refreshing.
Lip glosses expire approx. 18 months after first application
Lipsticks approx. 2 years after first application
Don’t forget to take the time to sort out your makeup drawer, remove old & forgotten pieces and replenish¬†with new items. It can really¬†transform your¬†look, allow you to¬†be more¬†adventurous, and save you from diseases as old makeup can lead to bacteria cultivation!

Sally Hansen Lip Brightening Gloss – I recently showed this product in my dollar tree haul. I was so pleasantly surprised with it! Whether or not is actually brightens my teeth, I’m not sure. I would recommend trying out this gloss if you see at dollar tree. (Discontinued)

Color- (Dazzling) deep raspberry – berry color with very fine shimmer. It applies a little pinker than tube color.
Consistency It goes on smooth, not sticky, long-wearing and the gloss has vitamins that moisturizing your lips
Smell- gloss is minty but luckily does not burn my lips!
Packaging – it’s gorgeous! The top can be used as a small mirror and very similar to design that Smashbox is currently offering.
Application – fuzzy tip called ” doe foot”
Cost: $1 dollar

Couleurs Nature Plumping Sheer Gloss:¬†¬†I purchased this online at Yves Rocher with their raspberry tote set. Originally I didn’t think much of it but after first application I was in love. I highly recommend purchasing this gloss! Ebates¬†here often offer 30-40% cashback on Yves Rocher products. This gloss is very high quality and made in Italy.

Color: (Framboise) Semi-sheer bright pink coral. Hint of shimmer It very unique and bold color in the tube but it is wearable.
consistency: goes on smooth, a bit sticky to adhere to you lips
Smell: Yves Rocher’s raspberry scent
Packaging: I find that the packaging it too bulky and makes it less portable.
Application: brush tip, I find it is very easy to use and apply
Cost: $9

Bath & Body Works Liplicious – Currently Bath & Body works is having their semi-annual sale. They have a¬†¬†ton of lip gloss on sale for $3 and though aI’m¬†not reviewing it now, I saw that¬†Pink Liplicious in Papaya¬†is on sale. I’m sad b/c I heard they might discontinue it. ūüė¶¬†
Anyways the liplicious collection has tons of colors, shades, and all their lip glosses having a different sweet or fruity scent.

Color: (Sign. Vanilla-Lemon) Clear gloss with loaded with fine multi-color shimmer
Consistency: applies smooth but it is on the sticky-er side
Smell: I LOVE the smell! It’s like lemon bar or some lemon dessert.
Packaging: portable, plastic
application: tapered plastic tip, squeeze out
Costs: $7-8 (discount if you buy more)

E.L.F Studio Line Lip stains¬†– I like that fact that these are duos. They have a variety of shades from mauve to bright corals. I got mine at the Dollar Tree but they usually sold online & Target for $3 bucks. The lip stain appears matte on your lips but I prefer it with addt’l gloss giving it more dimension. I found the lip stain not to be drying and smooth application. However once you add the gloss you lower the long-lasting power and with eating the lip stain does slightly transfer/fade.

Color: (Lucky Lady) deep brownish-red mauve color, with gloss it’s more light mauve
Consistency: smooth, lip stain appears on lips like a matte, gloss is not sticky/thinner consistency
Smell: generic lipstick smell
Packaging: I like matte black & clear packaging, slim
Application: 2 doe foots

L’oreal’s¬†Hip Color Presso – It seemed like an interesting¬†idea. However after reviewing the product, I would *NOT* repurchase again. The packaging really hinders application and use. Luckily I got in a WAGS sale or else it would $8-9 product. For more information about this product you can see Pinkie Charm’s¬†Youtube review here. I think she does a great job explaining the pros & cons.

Color: (Fashionista) Gold gloss one side, Deep burgundy red on the other side. The glosses were beautiful and I love the red color.
Consistency: smooth, not too sticky or thin
Smell: n/a
Packaging: Really difficult to work with, it was impossible to use both glosses at once, tube plastic was too thick to squeeze, odd shape
application: super messy, hard squeeze and use, gloss came out tapered plastic tip,  I would recommend using a separate lip brush
Costs: $3 on sale at WAGS (reg $9)

Sally Hansen Lip Butter Gloss – I picked this up with my friend Anna in my 2nd Dollar Tree Haul. I would have to say this gloss is so amazing! I really like the color, texture and price. I will be stocking on these babes before I leave MN and probably have on for a blog giveaway. I’d have to say I liked a lot of December lip glosses but this is my favorite of the month, maybe all time. It’s got a lot of fruit extracts and shea butter. (discontinued in mass retailers, I think you can only get at Dollar Tree or Ebay now)

Color: (Rosebud) light pink & hint of silver shimmer, quite glossy on lips
Consistency: thicker, however not too sticky
Smell: fruity scented
packaging: it looks very green, lip container has leaf paper wrapped around it, sturdy
application: brush tip, I’m beginning to really prefer brush tips over others, easy applicator
cost: $1

L’oreal Bare Naturale Gentle lip conditioners¬†– Walgreens¬†(WAGS) is currently discounting out of some their cosmetics up to 75% off. I got these for¬†almost free¬†with my sunday newspaper coupons ($2 off L’oreal¬†item, $5 off 2 L’oreal¬†items). Even without coupons, WAGS was having buy¬†1 get 1 50% off for L’oreal¬†& Covergirl¬†even on clearance¬†items. However¬†I am not sure if the sale is still going on. With out that being said, I was not impressed by this product. I purchased 2 as seen above in soft peach & soft mauve. I would recommend going with a much darker color shade if you want color ¬†because gloss is very sheer!!! It more of clear gloss with hint of color.

Color: (Soft Peach) (Soft Mauve) Color was very sheer. I personally preferred the soft mauve because it did make my lips look natural nude tone.
Consistency: thin gloss, quickly absorbs into lips, almost like a balm
Smell: n/a
Packaging: very portable, 2 inches tall, twist the grey part to release gloss
Application: clear rubber-plastic tapered tip, twist the grey part, *when you first use it, it’s best to hold gloss upside down and twist or else you’ll be twisting for a very long time, I find the twist function to be really annoying and hard to control how much gloss comes out.
Costs: $2.59 Wags (normally $8)

Lotta Luv Pepsi Wild Cherry Gloss– I recently showed this in my Target 75% off sale. Whew there’s a lot of discounting at stores! So I was able to get this for super cheap. However, you get what you pay for. The gloss, itself is fine. But the quantity is TINY! Most the tube is filled with the doe¬†foot and once you take it out you have a tiny bit of gloss.¬†It was only¬†0.04 oz!!! (Normally glosses are 0.1-0.2 oz) So I really glad I got it on sale.

Color: Sheer Pink Coral
Consistency: not too thick or thin, it goes on smooth and absorbs to lip quite nicely
Smell: Pepsi Wild Cherry, actually quite similar to the pop
Packaging: portable, light
Application: doe foot tip
Cost: $0.25 (normally $1)
