7 Deadly Sins Makeup Tag

This is the 7 Deadly Sins Makeup Tag that I saw on Amarixe on Youtube.
I thought it was rather interesting so I decided to do it and I tag anyone who wants to do it.
Feel free to add your answers/links to this tag in the comments 🙂

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
6. LUST: What product has been the hardest to get?
7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

My favorite least expensive item is my NYC ultra moist lipstick in sheer red. It’s the best shade of red and it only cost $0.99! My most expensive makeup purchase would have to my Urban Decay Naked Palette. I actually was able to snag this in a Sephora sale so I got it for $35 instead of $50. So it was still a score and really wonderful palette.

My love/hate relationship at this moment would have to be with mascara. I love achieving really voluminous, bold lashes. Currently, I’m trying out Revlon Grow-luscious, Rimmel Day/Night, Maybelline Lash Stiletto and Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black. I’m on a mascara kick! However, I really dislike removing mascara. I usually end up with panda eyes ><

My most delicious item is my Milani illuminating face powder in Amber Nectar. I think the packaging is gorgeous, fancy and the flowers are so cute. The design is etched into the powder so it will last a long time. Also the illuminating powder is finely milled and gives off a gorgeous glow! I also really like Palladio baked blush in blushin’. It’s a gorgeous rosy blush with a hint of gold.

I use Covergirl Nature Lux Foundation in Sandstone. It’s a great foundation, even coverage, weightless and blend-able. However, when I get lazy I skip foundation in favor of matte powder and some concealer.

If I am to only have 1 makeup item it would have to be black eyeliner. I think it has the ability to make my eyes pop and define my face. I really notice a difference in photographs that eyeliner makes a huge difference. I like a really deep black eyeliner with a pointed brush tip. I’m currently using Dolly Wink in Black, 1 day Tattoo in Black and Physician Formula eye booster eyeliner in Black.

OMG! Every time I say it will be the last time but my hunt for limited edition Wet n Wild items never ends! The hardest things for me to locate where the Wet n Wild I love matte eyeshadow palette and Wet n Wild dream weavers trios. I literally went to 10+ drugstores to get my hands on them.

What do I envy? I always envy foreign makeup brands for example the Sleek Palette in Oh So Special! I see them in beauty blogs and videos. I go oh! ah! but alas I can’t get my hands on them! The allure of the unattainable! > Check out my wishlist tab on the top blog bar if you want to know more about it 😛

Have a nice day!

Mascarpone Fruit Pots – a summer delight!

I wish it was summer already! The weather is quite on the fritz. One moment it’s gloomy and rainy then another moment we are in submerged in a bliss of clear skies and sunshine. Though I can’t really complain because at least we are almost there.

So first off, this was my first time using mascarpone cheese. I actually had to hit up a few grocery stores and call a few friends to hunt down the stuff. I’m so glad that’s it’s in my life because it’s so freakin’ delicious!

Mascarpone can be made from whipping cream.
I bought mine at Whole Foods Market for around $6 a tub.
I found was sold in the refrigerated aisles.

I found this recipe in one of my magazines and I immediately tore it out as I had to make it.
Ha that’s the beauty of magazines I don’t even feel guilty about it and I’m so glad I did. 🙂

Serves 4
(feel free to use other fruit, fresh fruit is the best, just not acidic fruit)
2-3 Mangoes
Raspberries – one carton, 8 oz
Mascarpone 6 oz
Heavy whipping cream – 1 pint
Powdered sugar – 2 table spoons
Lemon zest, optional flavoring + zesting tool recommended

Zest the lemon peel, about 2 teaspoon
Wash & Cut the fruit into bite size pieces
Mash half the carton of raspberries with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Using a mixer whip the 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream with the mascarpone cheese into frosting like texture
* Feel free to add more heavy whipping cream until desired texture is received
Place the cream mixture into individual size cups
Layer on the fruit to preference
Sprinkle on lemon zest
Chill for 1 hr in fridge
Serve! 🙂

Brief Overview of Sleek Palettes
I really like Sleek palettes as they offer both neutral and bright eyeshadow shades. They come in a sturdy black packaging and are very “sleek” in appearance.  It comes with a large mirror, 2 ended sponge applicator, easy to open, and very rich colors. Plus they are only $10 US dollars or 6 pounds per palette so they are a steal!

– Affordable!
– Large Variety of Colors
– Pigmented
– Smooth Application
– Travel Friendly / Portable
* Comes with a large mirror & applicator

–  Can be hard to locate outside of the UK
– Some colors can be more powdery, mattes

Would I repurchase – Yes! Highly recommended. I’ve got my eye out for the Sleek Palette in Me, Myself and My Eye.

Bonchon’s Korean Fried Chicken

Bon Chon Chicken
572 E El Camino Real
Sunnyvale, CA 94087

I was really intrigued about Bon Chon’s Korean fried chicken after seeing Kirbie’s Craving’s post here.
This place was packed on a Friday night so we waited about 45 min. The waiter kept saying 15 min every time I asked how long it would take. Anyways, the atmosphere is nice and friendly. Their menu is pretty simple. It’s either original or spicy, drums or wings, and you get to a side dish with your order of wings. The wings come out to be around $1 each and drums $2?

I’m not sure what is about Korean fried chicken but this is no KFC. The batter is sweet and tangy sticks to the chicken. We got a mix of original and spicy. The drums are considerably bigger than the wings. The chicken was fresh, juicy and tender. I liked how it came with salad and diced radish which were quite refreshing. The portions were decent for two people. We ordered 6 mixed pieces with a side of french fries. We were stuffed from the meal.

It’s not complete without some curly fries!
Btw though we didn’t have any, I do believe they offer a variety of flavored sake. It seems like an interesting combination.

Price – $
Taste – Tasty!
Atmosphere – Friendly place for gatherings with friends
Service – Meh 45 min wait, food arrival was prompt and waiter was ok.
Options – Limited focused on chicken

Overall I would recommend trying out this place as Korean fried chicken is a interesting variation, moderately priced and I thought it was quite tasty. However it is quite a unpredictable wait time so I’d probably either go on weekday or get takeout. 🙂
