My preferences:
Skin tone – Medium Light

Everyone has favorites…but here are some products of mine that DON’T make the cut!
I will be briefly listing my pros/cons and if I have a better substitute product.

Blinc Mascara
TypeMascara
Can be purchased at Birchbox.com
Retails for $24 dollars
Size – o.21 oz
Product comes with a flat straight mascara wand
* Review based on a sample received in my Birchbox

The gimmick with Blinc Mascara that it is the 1st mascara that creates tiny ‘tubes’ of water-resistant coating on your lashes. It doesn’t run, smudge, clump or flake. All you need to is use warm water and pressure, it’ll slide off.

Pros
– The product doesn’t run, smudge, clump or flake as it states
–  Simple and Sturdy Packaging
– Easy to remove with water, however there were no ‘tubes’ it felt like thin fabric paint plastic peeling away

Cons
– It was a very dry and thin formulation
– It’s hard to apply a thicker coating as the consistency was thin
– The mascara didn’t give my lashes any length, volume or intensity (basically like not wearing it)

NYX Round Lipstick in Margartia (LSS 597)
Type – Lipstick
Can be purchased at ulta.com
Retails for $3.99 dollars
Size – 0.14oz

This review on this particular NYX round lipstick shade in Margarita and not a review on the brand or type of lipstick.
Margartia is hot shimmery neon pink with coral orange undertones. It was completely unwearable shade on my lips both due to formulation, color and texture. If you did want to salvage this you could use it as a cream blush.

Pros
– Affordable
– Good packaging: lid clicks in, lipstick twists all the way down and bottom displays the color indicted
– Almost scent-less

Cons
– The formulation seeps into the lines in my lips making the them appear very chapped
– The color leans to a bright neon on the lips

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Palette
Type – Cream/Powder Concealer
This is a Target Exclusive
Retails for $9.99 dollars
Size – 0.14 oz

I’ve heard that loads of people love this palette as it maintains a cult following on YouTube.  I have used this product a fair amount, variation of mixing the colors and with/without powder. However, I find this product make my under eye circles worse and cakey without properly concealing anything. Perhaps this would be more suitable for fair/medium Caucasian skin tones.

Pros
– Lovely packaging: clear top with magnetic lid, sturdy and travel friendly
– It comes with 3 cream concealers and 1 powder setting powder (you can mix the colors)

Cons
– Cream products can be greasy and messy
– The cream concealers aren’t corrective but rather flesh-tones leaning to pinks
– Cream rather thick so it can emphasize wrinkles or lines in face

ELF Studio Mineral Face Primer
Type – Face Primer
Can be purchased at eyeslipsface.com
Retails for $6 dollars
Size – 0.49 oz

The ELF primer is manageable. It’s easy to use, clear gel texture and can make your face feel smoother. However I would never put this on my face. It smells very strong of plastic, chemical and silicone! I’d prefer Hard Candy’s Sheer Envy primer as drugstore alternative.

Pros
– The packaging is very nice and it has bottle pump
– Affordable, ELF often has discounts & coupons
– After application, face does feel smoother due to the silicone ingredients

Cons
– It smells very strong of chemical plastic.

Ulta Double Ended pencil in chocolate/black & spice/halo
Type – Pencil Liners
Can be purchased at Ulta
Price – Usually $7 per color
Size0.048oz
*Item was Ulta exclusive gift

Personally, I much prefer automatic liners to pencil liners.

Pros
– 2 colors in 1

Cons
– Super flimsy packaging, the lids keep falling off/cracking = nicked pencils
– pencils needs a lot of pressure to get a smooth line
– pigmentation is very average

Physician Formula Organic Jumbo Mascara in Black
This mascara is much loved but not me. It wasn’t able to give my lashes the desired effect and I felt the it was all very bulky. I was very put off by the smell of the mascara.

Pros
-Organic Ingredients

Cons
– Smells very strong
Bulky packaging
– Chunky mascara brush

Revlon ColorBurst in Papaya
Type – Lip Gloss
Can be purchased at Target
Retails – $6.49 to $8

I love the color but not the lip gloss. I’m not sure if it is this particular lip gloss but I felt the smell was very strong and I couldn’t wear it. I would prefer Revlon Super Lustrous Lip gloss any day!

Pros
-Gorgeous color
– Nice Packaging

Cons
– Thick consistency
– Smell very off putting

Almay Eye Remover in Moisturizing
Type – Makeup Remover
Can be purchased at Target
Retails $5

I would highly recommend Almay Eye Remover in Oil – Control. I really like this product but I hate the moisturizing version as it doesn’t really remove my makeup but spread it around. Moisturizing version uses a lot of oils.

Pros
– Easy to use circle pads
– Affordable
– Last lasting  product as I can use 1 pad for remove all my eye makeup (80)

Cons (Moisturizing Version)
– Very oily
– Messy

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Remover
Type – Makeup Remover
Can be purchased at Target
Retails for $5-6
Size – 5.50z

This makeup remover doesn’t properly remove my makeup. If the makeup is oil- based, waterproof or smudge-resistant the makeup remover doesn’t remove anything. I just ended up with icky raccoon eyes.

Pros
– Sturdy packaging
– Affordable

Cons
– Too gentle, it wasn’t able to properly remove makeup

Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in Romantic Rose
Type – Lipstick
Can be purchased at CVS
Retails for $9.99

This lipstick is a hybrid product. It’s similar texture to lip balm but it has a bit more pigmentation. However as a lipstick this product is over-priced and not contender against my makeup collection

Pros
-Moisturizing texture

Cons
– Packaging, the product can only be twisted out and not back in
– Not very pigmented
– Romantic rose color not suited for my skin tone, pale
– Seeps into the lines on my lips
